2-S Ranch 90003  "Bruno"

Our first ram, 2-S Ranch 90003, a.k.a. "Bruno," with strong influence of Marshall bloodlines, was purchased from Steve Storm. Bruno gave his lambs plenty of height and length. His untimely death lead us in search of a new stud ram in 2011. No Photo Available.

Langhus A 915-W RR   "Max"

In July 2011, we met Gene & Mary Langhus of Big Timber, MT. They introduced us to the NSIP program and our new stud ram, Langhus A 915-W RR, a.k.a. "Max".  We liked his structure and thickness, and were hopeful as to how he would influence our flock. We also appreciated the data that NSIP involvment provides. He had a birth weight of 16 lbs; weaned at 88 days with a weight of 67 lbs for an ADG of .579 lb/day. In Nov 2010, he went to the MSU Gain test. He entered that program weighing 113 lbs. At the end of the 105 day test, he weighed 215.5 lbs for an ADG of .98 lb/day - a gain ratio of 113%. In Feb 2011 , while at the MSU Test, his REA was 3.51 sq. in (ratio 104%) with backfat of .24 inches. In April 2011, his REA was 3.79 sq. in. with a depth of 1.5 (ratio 118%), backfat was .24 inches and he weighed 214 lbs. In Feb 2011, his fleece grade was 27.08 microns (56 spin count), standard deviation of 6.0 microns, and a coefficient of variance at 22.2%. In April of 2015 his US Range Value was 104.2 (with 63 lambs in his progeny).

In April. 2014, this ram was identified as a Columbia Elite sire through NSIP and was featured on the NSIP Facebook site:(https://www.facebook.com/nationalsheepimprovementprogram) .  "Max" is also identified on the April 2015 Elite Proven Sire list.

Blaha 1-17   "Tim"

Fortunately, we did hold one of "Bruno's" ram lambs, "Tim," as a potential stud ram. This triplet ram was out of a Casteel ewe. We have had 3 lamb crops out of him and are excited to see their length and height. We look forward to reviewing our NSIP data on him as we get more of his lambs on the ground. In April of 2014, his US Range Value was 102.2 (with only 22 lambs in his progeny). In April 2014, "Tim" was  identified as a Columbia Elite sire through NSIP, and again in April 2015 Elite Proven Sire list.

Neal 418    "Nigel"

We were able to attend the Newell Ram Sale where we found our newest stud ram prospect.  He was the Reserve Champion Columbia ram. Out of a Steinmetz ram, we are hopeful that Nigel will reach the potential we feel he has. We were struck by his wool, loin, and his length. Having crossed him with a select few ewes, we are closely watching his lambs' development.
